In a day in age, where the masses compromise quality over the convenience of a quick turnaround, nothing comes close to the salvation of a home cooked meal. New York City’s Kelly Geary and her Sweet Deliverance offers patrons the carte du jour. What she’s created is a bridge; leaving the fast paced metropolitan lifestyle in your rearview as you settle within the calm comforts of countryside cuisine.
Convenient quality in essence as Ms. Geary, a graduate of Manhattan’s renowned Natural Gourmet Institute for Health and Culinary Arts puts to practice years of food preparation and culinary exploration in building the Sweet Deliverance foundation. Focused on perfecting the cuisine of slow foods with sustainable and organic produce alongside special-needs cooking and careful preparation for all dietary needs. She’s honed her expertise in kitchens both in Florida, where she worked at the brasserie one of a handful of Gainesville, FL’s fine dining restaurants and California, where she managed the kitchen at the Wildflower Café and Bakery – a vegan/vegetarian restaurant. Kelly has also applied her years of experience within her chef jobs throughout noted restaurants in the New York area.
Previously the sous chef at noted Manhattan eatery, Little Giant, Kelly worked up the ranks from line cook at the restaurant. Serving 60-90 dinners a night she cooked Seasonal American cuisines while focusing on quality ingredients. Having refined her craft upstate at the astute Blue Hill at Stone Barns Restaurant and Center for Agriculture under chef Dan Barber, Geary began as an intern and finished as chef in the garde manger, serving120-200 dinners an evening.
Yet, Sweet Deliverance is her true passion. A loyal share-holder in her local CSA (Community Support Agriculture) program, Kelly eagerly awaits the Saturday mornings when she can visit her Williamsburg, Brooklyn locale at McCarren Park. Joyfully selecting the best of their fresh organic fruits, vegetables and flowers. Sweet Deliverance is built upon that framework. Celebrating the partnership of mutual commitment between farm and community. Providing a direct link between the production and consumption of food.
